The 2026 Era Deserved a Grand Reveal—Not a Private Shakedown

At the end of last year it was announced that Formula 1 would launch its new era of regulations with three weeks of on track testing. However, to the confusion of many fans it was declared that the first test would be held behind closed doors at Barcelona’s Circuit to Catalunya. This private test, which came to be known as the Shakedown, wasn’t broadcast online and media outlets were unable to attend the event. As a result of this, coverage of the event was extremely limited, leaving many fans (including myself) feeling frustrated during a time of the year which is usually an extremely exciting time for the sport.

The Trackside Brief | 12/2/2025

For my journalism editing class at school we were assigned to create a mock-newsletter with the top stories from a subject of our choosing. I of course decided to cover the latest stories in the world of Formula 1. Here is the finished product that I have named "The Trackside Brief." Skid Blocks: How a Wood Plank is Costing Teams Crucial Points

Off the back of last night's Las Vegas grand prix, both McLaren drivers were disqualified after their wooden skid blocks were found to have exceeded the maximum permitted wear. Following this pivotal decision, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is now back in a prime position to fight for the drivers championship.

PR Campaign Proposal - Female Representation in F1

Last year for a Public Relations class I took for University we were tasked with developing a hypothetical PR campaign for the final project. For the project we had to choose a company or business that was suffering from an image problem and create a 12 month PR proposal to address this issue. I decided to choose Formula 1, which while at the time was growing significantly in popularity, continued to receive criticism for it's lack of female representation.
